Lay Leadership Survey Results:

As reported in The Voice of Missouri, youth leaving the church is the main concern of more than 550 leaders throughout The Missouri District who responded to a recent survey conducted by the District Board of Directors.

AS noted above, two upcoming Congregation Matters seminars will include sessions on the loss of youth members in the church and the overall decline in membership.

Of the survey’s respondents, most were board members in their local congregations. An overwhelming majority get their information about district activities through The Voice. The respondents were mostly local leaders involved in outreach or evangelism. They indicated in the survey that they would welcome half-day training seminars, preferably within two hours of their home congregations with a cost up to $50.

Sixty-seven percent said district staff could contact them again for further input. The survey was closed May 31.
