Congregation Chai V'Shalom

Will you stand with us?
The Missouri District's outreach to Jewish people - Congregation Chai V'Shalom is courageously proclaiming Y'shua (Jesus) as the Messiah.

Chai V' Shalom's logoCongregation Chai v’ Shalom seeks to learn how to share the faith in such a way that the natural intolerance of Jewish people might be overcome. They pray that many will come to faith, Gentile and Jew, and that by being part of the community, they will also learn how to share their faith in Jewish ways and increase in the depth of their own faith through a deeper understanding of God’s Word and ways.

And you can help!!!
Will you stand with us in sharing the news that Messiah has come to this unbelieving community?

Rev. Kevin Parviz administering communion Worship at Chai v’ Shalom is conducted by LCMS pastor Kevin Parviz in a distinctly 1st Century way. David had been e-mailing Pastor Parviz for more than a year. He was a Jewish man, married to a Lutheran woman, and they had three small children. He had heard Pastor’s testimony and was struck by their similar conditions.

On a Wednesday night during Lent, David decided to come to the soup and salad supper at Chai v’ Shalom. He and Pastor ate together and shared God’s Word. David stayed for the Lenten service and fellowship time. Several Jewish believers shared their faith and their testimonies with him.

A few weeks later, David called Pastor Parviz to tell him that he had finally accepted God’s gift of grace through faith in the Messiah, Jesus. David was baptized on Pentecost Sunday.

Some time later, David and his family were traveling through St. Louis and joined Chai v’ Shalom for worship. He had been studying and working with his pastor, and was praying about the possibility of attending the Seminary.
